Project Manager

The New Energy Alliance (NEA) is a joint venture between Balfour Beatty Infrastructure and M.J. Electric, a Quanta Services company to support the delivery of National Grid's U.S. electricity capital investment program in New England. The project is for the design and build of substations and transmission lines in the New England region.
Position Summary:
The Project Manager is responsible for the oversight of projects as it relates to project scoping, estimating, schedules as well as adherence to project budgets, meeting all project schedules and interface with the customer.
Essential Duties:
- Manage all project budgets, schedules and deliverables;
- Create project schedules and perform schedule updates as needed;
- Create project budgets and track hours spent to budget;
- Manage project change order requests;
- Review and negotiate contracts;
- Ensure that a clear "Scope of Work" for each project is produced, and that adherence to contract conditions are in place;
- Monitor the expenditure and progress of projects against agreed budget and conditions;
- Ensure that the professional standards and codes of practice are applied throughout the project;
- Ensure that program, quality and safety plans for projects is in accordance with client requirements;
- Work to the standards of the joint venture for control and authorization of projects including commercial, financial, technical, environmental, safety and quality standards;
- Establish and maintain links with internal groups to ensure project continuity and clear division of responsibility;
- Additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
- 5-10 years project management experience.
- Extensive project management skills with a track record of achievement of complex projects.
Preferred:
- Bachelors Degree in engineering or related field.
- Prior experience working within a joint venture, or alliance type contract arrangement.
- Electrical experience preferably with overhead transmission lines and/or substations.
