Balfour Beatty Infrastructure Joins
Peers to Launch Industry
Ethics Initiative
(WASHINGTON, D.C.) - Balfour Beatty Infrastructure, Inc., an industry-leading civil engineering
contractor, is part of a new 13-company initiative aimed at establishing high ethical standards and
legal compliance in the industry. The member companies all serve public and private construction
needs.
The group has adopted a charter in which each member subscribes to a set of principles based on
ethics, high-level transparency, open competition and conflict-of-interest avoidance.
"Balfour Beatty Infrastructure, Inc. has always operated under the strictest ethical guidelines," said
Jim Moynihan, president and CEO of Balfour Beatty Infrastructure, Inc. "We want to be examples in
the industry. Our participation in this initiative will help us encourage other companies to follow our
lead."
Balfour Beatty Infrastructure's sister company in Dallas, Balfour Beatty Construction LLC, is also a
member of the initiative. The group will advance the principles of its charter by sharing best practices,
offering training and encouraging public accountability.
The other founding members are Austin Industries, Inc. (Dallas); Clark Construction Group, LLC
(Bethesda, Md.); Granite Construction, Inc. (Watsonville, Calif.); Kenny Construction Co.
(Northbrook, Ill.); Kiewit Corp. (Omaha, Neb.) The Lane Construction Corp. (Cheshire, Conn.);
Lusardi Construction Co. (San Marcos, Calif.); Suffolk Construction Co., Inc. (Boston); Sundt
Construction, Inc. (Tempe, Ariz.); Traylor Bros., Inc. (Evansville, Ind.); The Walsh Group (Chicago);
and Zachry Construction Corp. (San Antonio).
The group elected William G. Dorey, president and CEO of Granite Construction, Inc. as chairman of
the initiative's steering committee. Richard J. Bednar, an attorney in Washington, D.C., was named
interim coordinator.
