Beatty Infrastructure
(SACRAMENTO, Calif.) - The Sacramento Chapter of the American Public
Works Association (APWA) honored the City of Roseville and Balfour
Beatty Infrastructure, Inc., an industry-leading civil engineering
contractor, for its work on the Roseville Water Treatment Plant
expansion in Roseville, Calif.
The APWA selected the Roseville job as its 2008 Project of the Year and
bestowed the award at a luncheon last week in McClellan, Calif. The
project took top honors in the environment category of the Water,
Construction Division 4 ($10 million to $50 million).
The award recognizes projects that demonstrate excellence in
management, administration, design, construction and relations. It also
honors alliances between the managing agency and the consultants,
engineers and contractors who worked to complete the job.
"The Roseville Water Treatment plant was a great job both for
the community and for our company, having wrapped up ahead of schedule
and under budget," said Jim Moynihan, president and chief executive
officer of Balfour Beatty Infrastructure. "We are honored to have the
hard work of our Western Region team led by Bill Ogle and Crandall
Bates recognized by the APWA."
Balfour Beatty Infrastructure constructed the $32 million project, for
the City of Roseville, increasing the capacity at the Granite Bay plant
from 60 million gallons per day to 100 million. The plant expansion
included a new concrete floc/sed structure, new anthracite and sand
filters, and a new clearwell to hold and deliver the treated potable
water for the residents of Roseville. Work began in February 2006 and
was completed in November 2007.
