Balfour Beatty Infrastructure Wins
Nearly $200 Million in
Texas Highways
(AUSTIN, Texas) - Balfour Beatty Infrastructure, Inc. has been awarded nearly $200 million on
two separate Texas highway projects.
The Texas Department of Transportation (Texas DOT) awarded Balfour Beatty Infrastructure a
$140 million contract to construct a 10-mile, four-lane divided highway with 23 bridges that runs
between US 183 and Interstate 35 near Austin. The firm expects a notice to proceed for the twoyear
project to be issued in mid June 2007.
In February 2007, Balfour Beatty Infrastructure received a notice to proceed from Texas DOT for a
$43 million project near Houston on Interstate 10, known locally as the Katy Freeway. The highly
complex one-mile project involves relocating an existing two-track railway going over the freeway.
Balfour Beatty Infrastructure has been awarded more than $1.5 billion in successful Texas highway
projects for Texas DOT, Harris County Toll Roads Authority and the North Texas Turnpike
Authority.
