Trent River Replacement
Bridge Project
(WILMINGTON, North Carolina) - The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT)
has awarded Balfour Beatty Infrastructure, Inc. the $39.2 million contract to replace the Trent River
Bridge in New Bern, North Carolina. The 31-month project began in April 2007 and must be
completed by early November 2009.
The double leaf bascule two-lane 1800-foot bridge will be constructed from a temporary trestle that
will be erected as the existing bridge is demolished. NCDOT will re-route traffic starting in May
2007 for the duration of the project.
