Trent River
Construction is continuing on the Trent River Bridge replacement in New Bern, N.C. The project was awarded to Balfour Beatty Infrastructure, Inc. in April 2007. In the summer of 2007, the New Bern community held a "funeral" for the old Alfred Cunningham swing-span bridge over the Trent River. A short time later, the crew began demolition of the vintage 1954 bridge while installing substructure work and cofferdams.
