Sacramento River Water Intake Facility
When the City of Sacramento conceived this project, it established two main goals. The first was to deliver a functional intake facility on time and on budget. The second was to develop a showcase facility that was aesthetically pleasing. Balfour Beatty Infrastructure, Inc. succeeded on both counts.

Owner:

City of Sacramento

Location:

Sacramento, California

Contract Value:

$32 million

Balfour Beatty Infrastructure was awarded a $53 million contract to expand the 40-year-old Fairbairn plant, increasing its capacity from 80-million gallons-per-day (mgd) to 160 mgd. Some of the work involved construction of new lagoons, flocculators, filters and a clearwell, as well as installation of mechanical equipment, piping systems, and electrical instrumentation and controls. Architectural enhancements will also be made on some of the buildings and on the walkway bridge to improve project aesthetics.

We think the picture speaks for itself.
