Vineyard Water Treatment Plant

The Sacramento County Water Agency awarded the Western Region the largest self-perform contract ever for Balfour Beatty Infrastructure, Inc. Work began on the $207 million Vineyard Water Treatment Plant in March 2008. The Vineyard plant will receive its water from the Freeport Water Intake Facility that Balfour Beatty Infrastructure is constructing in the Sacramento River.

The 45-month project calls for a plant that provides coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, filtration and chlorine disinfection for 50 million gallons per day. The plant will include a clearwell/chlorine contact tank (24 million gallons), a 7,000 HP treated water pump station and an electrical building.

Balfour Beatty Infrastructure will also build solids-handling facilities, an operations center, a warehouse, a shop building and yard facilities.
