The project consisted of a 40 million gallon-per-day expansion of a
potable water treatment plant. The facility includes large diameter yard piping (up
to 72-inch welded steel pipe), two reinforced concrete sedimentation
basins of 2 million gallons capacity each and four reinforced concrete
gravity sand filters of 1,150 square feet each.
The team built various masonry
block and reinforced concrete structures, chemical storage tanks (up to
12,000 gallons each) and chemical feed systems. The contract also
called for miscellaneous site improvements and supporting mechanical,
electrical, and instrumentation and control systems.
