Sunnyside Wastewater Treatment ProjectClient: Lake Stevens Sewer District Location: Lake Stevens, WA Notice to Proceed: January 2009 Completion Date: June 2012 Original Contract Amount: $88 million
Work is progressing on the 14-acre site for the Lake Stevens Sewer
District. The project in Lake Stevens, WA, will run through 2011. It
includes the wastewater intake, an aeration system and an ultraviolet
disinfection.
Balfour
Beatty Infrastructure will also construct a generator building, an
administration building, a shop, earthworks and a stormwater detention
pond. The engineering firm Gray & Osborne is the designer of
the
plant, which is designed to handle 5 million gallons per day. The
Sunnyside plant will replace the Ebey Slough plant, which has lower
capacity and is less environmentally sound.
The project, which began in September 2008, includes
installation of a lift station and sewer pipeline just north of the
plant. Workers will place an effluent pipeline into a trench in the
existing slough.
